"On the day his case was closed, Jr. realized I would not be visiting him any longer and requested I still see him." - Joyce, CASA Volunteer

I was matched with Jr. from Sept 2004 to August 2017. When I first met Jr., he was only 4 years old, but I was not able to take him on outings due to his many behavioral issues. Through the years we have worked on many issues, from learning to stay focused to learning proper etiquette in public.

Regular consistent visits with his parents resumed around 2012 and in 2016 Jr. was able to return home to his parents. During the many years I spent with him, Jr. made tremendous progress with his behaviors. As his behaviors improved, he was able to focus and learn more. He graduated high school and learned how to work at a job. On the day his case was closed, Jr. realized I would not be visiting him any longer and requested I still see him. To this day, I still take Jr. out to a movie and dinner every few months.
