"I must say that little dark-haired girl turned into a beautiful young lady who I am immensely proud of for what she has accomplished!" - Pat, CASA Volunteer

Jordan and I were matched together from October 2007 to March 2011. At the time of my appointment, Jordan was six years old. OC Social Services was able to place her and her two sisters with a foster family, which thankfully kept them together. The foster family was nurturing and Jordan did well in their home. At the end of first grade, I noticed that Jordan had problems with reading. Over that summer, we worked together to see if additional tutoring would help. When she entered second grade, we asked for and received additional help from the school to improve her reading skills. As she progressed academically, so did her grades.
Jordan was an incredibly unique little girl who had a smile for everyone and loved to talk! Whether it was when we went to lunch or popped into See’s for our treats, she would speak with the staff as if they were family members and remembered what they discussed. Jordan and her sisters were reunited with their father in early 2011. They remained here in California for a few months and then relocated out of state and my involvement as her CASA ended.
Since August 2013, Jordan and I have reconnected. At that time, she had just turned 12-years-old and about to start 6th grade! To my surprise, I got a phone call from Jordan on July 5, 2018, letting me know of her arrival in California and wanting us to meet. I must say that little dark-haired girl turned into a beautiful young lady who I am immensely proud of for what she has accomplished!
