I remember the first time I got paired with Elyse. I was really nervous because I had just got into foster care and was trying to figure everything out. I felt like it was awkward the first time we met. But, I remember that when I needed help and guidance she was there for me and to answer any questions I had. I honestly wasn’t expecting her to care like she did. I wasn't expecting us to become friends but we absolutely did. Elyse and I were paired in CASA for a little over 5 years. In these years she helped me accomplish so much. Whether there were issues I was having in foster care, or if I needed help with school, she was there to help. She would even go beyond that. 

One of my favorite memories that still makes me cry is the day she showed up at my grand choir concert. That performance meant so much to me. Ever since then we have gotten to be close friends. Even today we both still turn to each other and will always continue to support each other. I absolutely love the CASA program, I think it is a wonderful program. Thank you for letting me be a part of the program. If it wasn’t for CASA, I wouldn’t have the mentor and friendship that I have today. I owe it all to you. Thank you, CASA.
