"...Nancy was always there for me. I could trust her no matter what" - Zach, Former CASA Youth

I would describe Nancy as devoted, loving, caring, friendly, and selfless. My favorite memory I had with her was when she made a surprise visit at my graduation. Nancy is someone who has always been there for me. Since I moved to Virginia in 2011, we haven’t seen each other very often, but seeing her familiar face lit up my day. It helped me realize my next step in my life as an adult, in college, was going to be okay.
I choose to keep in touch with Nancy because she’s been there for me and she’s a very special person to my whole family and me. She’s a close friend, and we have lots of fun together. She’s also done countless thoughtful and generous things for me all the time. I am now attending Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) - Annandale to get my degree in hospitality management. After NOVA, I plan to transfer to Johnson and Wales University to pursue my dreams of becoming a chef.
Having a companion as a child in foster care was great because Nancy was always there for me. I could trust her no matter what. Some words of encouragement I want to share are: try to be positive and look on the bright side of things.
